Hand Painted Frescos

The term Fresco is used to designate a mural hand painted over a fresh stucco wall. We use the earth?s natural pigments as colors for this beautiful mural. This old world technique creates a splendid and unique piece. This form of art requires from the artist the experience and ability to paint quickly and with confidence.

?Strappa? is the Italian technique of removing a fresco painting from the wall and transporting it to a conventional support such as a marble top. The first step of this technique is to remove the painting from the wall while it is still fresh; pressing a previously adhesive saturated cloth against the original painting does this. We now have a negative and from here we proceed to remove the painting from the negative with a stronger adhesive and thicker cloth.

The result is a beautiful, authentically unique tabletop created in the same way Michelangelo did over 500 years ago. The tabletop is now ready to be inlaid with small tumbled marble pieces and sealed to allow for many years of beauty. The Fresco tabletops are for indoor use or may be used under a covered terrace.

Italian Hand Painted Lava Stone

Lava Stone from the Etna Volcano in Sicily is the raw, natural material used in our collection of volcanic tops. This material has exceptional features and qualities and is extremely durable in any kind of weather. It simulates new, original and modern forms of architectural expression. After locating volcanic stone from the area, the slabs of lava stone are cut, polished and hand painted and signed by the Italian artist.

They are then glazed and kiln fired several times at high temperatures. The final product has a textured glaze and a special finish that softens the hand painted colors with a beautiful crackled glazed finish. The tables have natural imperfections and this makes each table unique and different.

The lava stone table is an excellent table for indoors or outdoors and will withstand weather and maintain its beauty over time giving you the opportunity to enjoy this masterpiece for generations.

Hand Placed Marble Mosaic

A process that begins as a slab of marble, which is cut into small pieces and hand placed in position to form a beautiful design. The artisan needs to have the ability to distribute the stones as to obtain balance of the composition.

Each tabletop is unique because each piece of stone is unique, even using the same design, no two tabletops are alike, each taking on the characteristics of the stone which gave it life.

Molten Glass

A Master Glass Maker chisels into a piece of stone by hand to form a specific pattern. A piece of glass is then laid on top of the chiseled stone and fired at a high temperature as to melt the glass into the chiseled cavity of the stone and to form a negative pattern onto the glass. The glass is then tempered.

Tumbled Marble

Each piece is hand cut, hand sized and tumbled with sand to give an aged appearance. The pieces are then placed into a design on a marble disk and grouted. These tabletops are wonderful for indoor or outdoor use.
